Difference between HCS fiber and PCS fiber

Quartz optical fiber is divided into quartz cladding (HCS) fiber and plastic cladding (PCS) fiber.

The core layer and cladding material of the HCS fiber are quartz glass, but the refractive index

of the core layer is higher than that of the cladding layer.

The core layer of PCS fiber is quartz glass, and the cladding material is low refractive index

organic optical materials, such as silicone rubber, fluorine plastic and fluorinated acrylic resin.
